Garlic is not only good for you and important in the kitchen, it also keeps parasites off your herbs and other plants.  Just plant a clove in the pot.  Allow to grow, trimming off some of the green top to help hide it.


To keep bread such as baguette fresh for several days, store with a piece of apple.  The result is surprising!

Spain and Italy were the first countries to use the fork at the table rather than just a serving utensil. Catherine Medici introduced this custom to the French in the 16th century.

It took until the 19th century when the US adopted this custom.
